What's for dinner?

How about goldfish for everyone, including the dog?  And for easy clean up we can just all eat off the floor.IMG_4674 IMG_4684 IMG_4692

The girls and I spent the day down in Gig Harbor.  We got home around 5:30 and the girls were starving.  I brought everything inside and stupidly placed the bag with all their snacks in it on the floor.  While I was trying to get organized and prepare them a meal, they found the bag.  I turned around to Madi ripping the bag of goldfish open.  Of course, the camera was on the counter so before I freaked out and hit clean up mode, I had to snap a few pictures.  They all, including Papi, seemed very content just having goldfish off the floor for dinner.  I had to lock Papi in the office and the girls in their highchairs so I could get this all cleaned up and feed them a proper dinner.

Flying Pumpkins

Our neighbors on 31st Ave hang giant pumpkins from the tree in their front yard every year.  It really is quite a neat sight.  The girls and I took a walk down there today to take a look.

A weekend with Grammy and Grampy

Grandma Jeffie and Grandpa Rick came to visit for the weekend from Westport, MA.  We had a wonderful time, the girls were great.  Madi had a great time making new funny faces with Grampy.  She was a character all weekend.  Poor Emma was getting new teeth and had a bad cold all weekend but she managed to still have fun with her grandparents.

Grammy brought the girls these little bunny boots.  They are super cute, but don't stay on very long.

Madi is not only modeling her new boots, but her lunch too.

On Friday we went to lunch and on the way out we found a great big pile of fallen leaves.  The girls got to experience their first roll around in the leaves.  I think they liked it as much as playing in the bath.

Heady Halloween '08

Our friends, Austin, Katie and Emerson Heady threw a little monster Halloween party today for all of the girls' play mates.  The kids were all so cute all dressed up in their costumes.  This year Madi and Emma are little lobsters.

New Found Courage

This morning we were all hanging out downstairs when I realized Madi was missing in action.  The bathroom door was shut, Chad's office door was shut, the toy basket in the living room was filled with toys but no Madi, that is when I heard the silver rattle rattling up stairs in the guest room.  That's right when no one was looking Madi dashed up the stairs to play.  She was so proud of herself.  A few minutes later Emma was joining in on the fun.  The next thing we knew it became a race.  And they didn't want to stop.  Every time we brought them down, they went back up.  Our only choice was to go out and buy more baby gates.  I took Emma and Chad stayed with Madi, who still kept trying to climb the stairs.  Now, a week ago they were both terrified of the stairs. I guess they found the courage to conquer that fear.

I'm gonna get you.

Hurry Madi, Emma's gaining on you.

So proud!

Fifteen Month Well Baby

The girls turn 15 months on Saturday so we had their check up today.  Thankfully, Daddy was around to come with us.  It is getting harder and harder to take the girls to the doctor's office alone.  Here are the latest stats...

Madeline weighs a whopping 17lbs 15oz.  That is only up 7oz since her 12 month check up.  She is 28.5 inches tall.  She got her molars in the last month which put a stop to eating for a while.  She is beginning to get her appetite back, hopefully she will catch up soon.

Emma weighs 19lbs 9 oz, up 1lb 7oz since 12 months.  She is 29 inches tall. I will have to look, but I think this is the first time Emma has been taller.  She is growing so fast.    IMG_4123Yes, that is a real smile on Madeline's face and I got a picture of it.  She refuses to smile for the camera.

Nothing but trouble

I knew on day one that Madeline was going to give us a run for our money, I didn't know it would start so early.  Although she isn't fully walking (not for lack of ability, just lack of need) she can climb.  Monday morning she discovered that she could climb in the kitchen drawer, the drawer that has been a favorite for a while now.  And she also discovered how to climb on the rocking chair.  The drawer was still a big hit this morning and the babysitter said she spent a lot of time in there last night as well.  She is still intimidated by the stairs, but I am sure it won't be long before she finds the courage and shoots right up them.  IMG_4044

Emma hasn't figured out how to get in there with her, but it won't be long so keep an eye out for that picture, because you know I will take it and post it when it does.

Please excuse the blue painter's tape on the other drawer, it keeps there little hands out.

Happy Birthday BB

Grandma BB's birthday was on Thursday, October 9th.  For her birthday I decided to take a few pictures of the girls sitting on the bench that was given to us by BB's mother Virginia Jenkins. I had the pictures framed and sent to her so I didn't want to post them until she go them.  Now that BB has them I will share with the rest of you.  The lighting wasn't ideal, but they turned out pretty cute.  Hopefully with a little more Photoshop practice, I can adjust them. It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Chad got home from Philly last night so this morning we decided to go have a family adventure to a pumpkin patch.  We loaded the girls and Papi up in the car and headed up to Arlington.  We found a cute little farm with a few animals and a large pumpkin patch.  IMG_3989

This goat was high above us and could pull the rope with his teeth to get the food.

I wonder what weighs more, the girls or the pumpkins.

Gig Harbor

With Chad gone for the week, the girls and I went down to Gig Harbor to visit Nana and Papa.  We were also invited to Mac and Finn's for a play date with some friends.  The girls had a blast playing with Beau and Ava, Jessica and Jack, Jack and Ava, and Mac and Finn.  At one point Emma tried to get in on the action as all the big kids were jumping on the couch.  It was fun to have a little mommy time with Sommer, Krista, Tamara, and Heather.
