Sun, Elmo, and Red Sox

The weather couldn't have been nicer this weekend.  The girls spent many hours playing outside.  They also had a very special Saturday morning.  We took the girls to see Sesame Street Live, Elmo's Green Thumb.  To say they loved it would be an understatement.  As soon as we walked in they were in Elmo heaven.  When we got to our seats, Madi just sat and stared.  She was so enthralled.  Emma had a huge grin on her face and loved to clap after every song with the rest of the audience.  I got a lot of shots of the stage but sadly wasn't able to get any pics of the girls watching the show.  IMG_0814 IMG_0805 IMG_0830 Daddy and the girls at intermission.  Elmo and Cookie made the trip too.

The Red Sox were in town for the weekend.  Chad and I went to the day game on Sunday.  The perfect day for the ball park.  Auntie Kendra was kind enough to hang with the girls.  Someday we will take them but maybe to a game we don't care that much about.  Who knows how long they will last.  M's won 2 out of the 3 games.  The Sox always have a tough time as Safeco.  game658 copy Jacoby Ellsbury making contact.IMG_0938 copy It's fun to have Griffey back in town.

An Afternoon with Daddy

Daddy took the day off, a very well deserved day off.  He got up really early and had a 6:30 tee time with Uncle Ryan.  After golf and a nap he took the girls to U Village while Auntie Katie and I ran our 6 miles.  Emma had a hair appointment, then they got some ice cream and hit the grocery store to pick up stuff for dinner.  When I got home, the girls were in the greatest moods.  And their hair was too cute.  Madi didn't have hers cut, but did have it styled.

I wish I could have been a little fly and followed them around.

Yesterday afternoon the girls decided the handle on the oven warming drawer was a great place to sit and enjoy their milk.  It they somehow turned into a milk spitting contest.

Happy Mother's Day

I am very blessed to be the mother of such wonderful little people.  My Mother's Day was a weekend spent with my family.  Yesterday we went out and I got to pick out 13 new plants for the yard.  The weather was beautiful so Chad spent the afternoon getting the yard shaped up and planting all my new plants.  The girls loved playing in the backyard while daddy worked.  Then we had some friends over and enjoyed snacks and drinks on the deck. This morning we got up and went for a short hike.  Papi got to go swimming then went to the groomer's.  IMG_0515 Madi playing around all the buckets. It's all an adventure

Sorry, kind of a long one.

On Tuesday we spent the morning at the Pacific Science Center playing in the toddler area because it was once again raining in the NW.  Madi was having a Madi morning.  She is one of the most expressive people I know.  IMG_0297 copy Probably the only smile on her face all morning.  She was having the time of her life playing in this car.  She loves buckling seat belts, this one was velcro so she could do it and undo it as much as she wanted.  IMG_0318 copy Emma in the helicopter yacking something to her sister.IMG_0335 copy They love water, I need to get them a water table for the backyard this summer.IMG_0341 copy While we were there a huge group of students came walking into the center.  Many of the kids were wearing Meeker Middle School sweatshirts and it occurred to me that many of them we my students from five years ago.  One of them came up and gave me a huge hug and when I pointed out the girls, she ran into the toddler area and started playing with Emma.  It was cute.  IMG_0360 copy After getting drenched at the water table we had to have a WT moment and go shirtless.  IMG_0346 copy Katie set Emma next to Madi so I could get a picture and Madi made it perfectly clear she was not happy with Katie doing that.  This picture makes her skull and crossbones Vans even more fitting.  IMG_0370 copy Emma's pants were so wet she could barely get down the slide.  IMG_0367 Back in the car, thankfully I had the girls' sweatshirts.  They don't have shirts on under those, but at least they have clothing on.  IMG_0398 copy Emerson is the only person Madi would share the car with.  If any other kid came near her she gave them the stink eye.  Finally, I had to pull her off of it and give some other kids a turn.IMG_0401 Madi's first public melt down.  She was sobbing.

After getting home and having a nice long nap all was better in Madi's world.  The weather cleared up enough for the girls to play outside a little bit.  Emma discovered she could get under the deck and play in the dirt.  IMG_0415 copy But then couldn't figure out how to get back out.  (The deck has since been blocked off.) We had to go inside and get cleaned up.  I stripped Emma down and got out the stool to wash her up.  Standing on the stool and playing in the water is a huge hit so Madi had to rip off her clothes and climb up too.
