After spending a fun filled week in Duxbury we headed down to Westport to see Grampy and Grammy. The girls have done so well with all the running around. When we got there we went for a drive with Grampy and stopped to see some cows. The girls are wild about animals. While we were there, they saw lots of cows, fed a few horses, saw and fed a few donkeys, saw lots of ducks, and many lobster. The girls also experienced their first boat ride on Grampy's boat. They didn't like the life jackets at first, but got used to them and loved going out on the boat. We also hit Elephant Rock Beach Club for some fun in the sun and sand.
We pulled over on the side of the road to get a closer look at some cows. Westport is literally where cows graze on the water's edge. It is beautiful land.
Popsicles on the deck. The girls had a great time running around Grampy's huge yard.
On Thursday, daddy and I left the girls with Grampy and Grammy for the night and headed to Newport, RI. It was absolutely beautiful. We had a lot of fun walking around.
The only picture I took in Newport. After this margarita and the many that followed, picture taking wasn't happening.
Friday, we took the girls out on the boat.
Watching daddy from the deck of the boat house. Thankful for the gate, the dock made me nervous.
Running around at the beach club. It was a gorgeous beach, and the water was perfect.
Prepping the corn for dinner with Grammy on the deck.
Saturday afternoon we stopped by the beach club where there had been a sand castle contest. The girls thought the lion was too cool.
Saturday evening we had a large Borden family lobster bake at the boathouse. It was fun to see all the cousins and kids. The girls loved playing with the big kids. All the kids playing on the decks.
Madi patting the oshers (lobster).
Emma giving the oshers some pats too.
Mmmmm dinner Emma hanging from the rafters of the boathouse while Madi sits quietly and draws. The big kids waiting for their lobsters.
Emma and Uncle Jake having some dinner.
I love the look on Madi's face, "come on mom, it's just water".
Sunday morning we were invited to go see some miniature donkeys that belong to a friend of grammy's. They have a stunning little farm on the river with donkeys, chickens and ducks. The girls were great at feeding the donkeys carrots. After a nap in the car we took the boat over to The Back Eddy for lunch.
