Back in Duxbury

Monday morning we headed back up to BB's for what was daddy's last day of vacation and should have been ours as well until plans changed.  Last week we found out that daddy had a meeting in Boston the week after Labor Day, and since we were planning on heading to New York for a wedding Labor Day Weekend we decided it would be best for all of us to come out for the entire week.  Well, then the decision was made that the girls and I would stay here for the next four weeks and daddy would come back in three.  So Daddy is now home in Seattle and we are extending our vacation. It will be hard without him, but great to have the extra time here.

Fun in Westport, MA with Grampy and Grammy

After spending a fun filled week in Duxbury we headed down to Westport to see Grampy and Grammy.  The girls have done so well with all the running around.  When we got there we went for a drive with Grampy and stopped to see some cows.  The girls are wild about animals.  While we were there, they saw lots of cows, fed a few horses, saw and fed a few donkeys, saw lots of ducks, and many lobster.  The girls also experienced their first boat ride on Grampy's boat.  They didn't like the life jackets at first, but got used to them and loved going out on the boat.  We also hit Elephant Rock Beach Club for some fun in the sun and sand.

We pulled over on the side of the road to get a closer look at some cows.  Westport is literally where cows graze on the water's edge.  It is beautiful land.   IMG_2644 copy IMG_2658 copy IMG_2661 copy

On Thursday, daddy and I left the girls with Grampy and Grammy for the night and headed to Newport, RI.  It was absolutely beautiful.  We had a lot of fun walking around.

Friday, we took the girls out on the boat.

Saturday afternoon we stopped by the beach club where there had been a sand castle contest.  The girls thought the lion was too cool.  IMG_2757 copy

Saturday evening we had a large Borden family lobster bake at the boathouse.  It was fun to see all the cousins and kids.  The girls loved playing with the big kids.  IMG_2775 copy All the kids playing on the decks.

Sunday morning we were invited to go see some miniature donkeys that belong to a friend of grammy's.  They have a stunning little farm on the river with donkeys, chickens and ducks.  The girls were great at feeding the donkeys carrots.  DSCF4803 copy DSCF4806 copy DSCF4811 copy After a nap in the car we took the boat over to The Back Eddy for lunch.  IMG_2931 copy IMG_2950 copy DSCF4844 copy

Go, Go, Go in Duxbury, Mass

On Wednesday morning we headed to the airport to catch a 1 PM flight to Boston.  The girls did great and took their 2.5 hour nap right on the plane.  After the five hour flight and a quick drive south, we arrived in Duxbury.  BB was up waiting for us and the girls were excited to see her.  They ran around the house exploring and playing with all of their new toys until Midnight (9 PM PST but still way past their bedtime).  On Thursday we got packed up to go to the beach with the Fraziers but the rain came and we went to lunch instead.  After taking a nap, the sun came out and Uncle Jake come down.  We celebrated Uncle Jake's birthday with some lobster and corn on the cob.   IMG_2392 copy IMG_2407 copy IMG_2434 copy2 IMG_2421 copy

Friday evening we had all of daddy's friends over for a cook out, which also ended up being inside.  It was fun to see everyone and to see all the kids playing together.  IMG_2473 copy Emma and Lucy Frazier IMG_2483 Emma and Lucas Bartlett making a run for it.IMG_2488 copy Zoe Garrett rounded up the troops and didn't let them run too far.IMG_2490 Emma and Lucas running through the puddles, always a good time. Saturday night we celebrated the Lee's Wedding with the Duxbury crew.  It was nice to have a night out with all the Duxbury boys and the wives.  We have spent the rest of our days hitting the beach, swimming in the Bornheimer's pool and hanging out with BB and friends.  The girls are having a great time and are doing amazing with all the running around.  P8030056 Playing in the sand at Duxbury beach.  P8030064 IMG_2598 copy IMG_2605 copy IMG_2608 copy IMG_2615 copy Running up BB's driveway.IMG_2588 copy KissesIMG_2590 copy
